The Catalogue of Marvellous Trades is our new Autumn-Winter 2020 collection.
It is a celebration of creativity, possibility, and freedom.

These next trades may go unnoticed but they are essential and require serious skills and a deep vocation:

TRANSLATOR OF UNWRITTEN WORDS

You should share unimagined stories in every language there is for kids around the world to enjoy. If the challenge of literary translation is to stay faithful to the original while evoking the same feelings, things get worse when the original does not even exist.

CLOUD SCULPTOR

You will be responsible for people spotting sheep, horses and vessels drifting through the skies. Make sure every cloud is puffy and has its silver lining.

COLLECTOR OF BEAUTIFUL WORDS

You’ll be in charge of catching beautiful words with a butterfly net and preserving them ‒ an endangered species nowadays ‒ for future generations to enjoy. You and your friends can trade words with each other.

LOST THINGS RECOLLECTOR

You will be in charge of taking the lost things to the secret place where lost things go. Prepare yourself to gather many pencils, umbrellas, good pieces of advice and balloons that have gone up in the air.

PILLOW TESTER

You must sleep with a different pillow every night. Try sleeping in bed, sitting on a chair, standing inside the wardrobe. In the morning you should evaluate both the quality of the pillow and the quality of your dreams.

BIRD TUNER

There is nothing more disappointing than a lovely picnic in the countryside on a sunny summer’s day and birds singing out of tune. Your job is to tune the birds accurately so that a Cockatoo Parrot doesn’t sound like a rusty old trumpet.

SHADOW REPAIRER

Losing one’s shadow is kind of a problem. Shadows are soft and they tend to peel off. Carry around your thread and needles to help kids with frayed-elbow shadows.

LUCKY STAR DISTRIBUTOR

You shall open the telephone book on any page at random. Then close your eyes and pick a new fortunate person. Call to congratulate.

STRAIGHT LINE BENDER

Give a little twist to everything that is boringly uniform and straight, such as lines, roads, horizons, ideas, etc.

MOON SUPERVISOR

Moon feels glad when looked at, but nobody cares about her anymore. Keep an eye on her, write her poems so she doesn’t feel neglected.

DINOSAUR SHEPHERD

Tend, herd, feed and guard flocks of terrible lizards. Dinosaurs enjoy being scratched behind their ears. Keep a watchful eye out for poisonous plants or falling meteorites. Keep an eye on your herding dogs too.
