What do you want to be when you grow up? If an astronaut or fireman is not of your like, this Catalogue of Marvellous Trades may help inspire you. All trades are important. The janitor is as necessary as the doctor, as long as everyone brings something positive to society.
The Catalogue of Marvellous Trades is our new Autumn-Winter 2020 collection.
It is a celebration of creativity, possibility, and freedom.
These next trades may go unnoticed but they are essential and require serious skills and a deep vocation:
TRANSLATOR OF UNWRITTEN WORDS
You should share unimagined stories in every language there is for kids around the world to enjoy. If the challenge of literary translation is to stay faithful to the original while evoking the same feelings, things get worse when the original does not even exist.
CLOUD SCULPTOR
You will be responsible for people spotting sheep, horses and vessels drifting through the skies. Make sure every cloud is puffy and has its silver lining.
LOST THINGS RECOLLECTOR
You will be in charge of taking the lost things to the secret place where lost things go. Prepare yourself to gather many pencils, umbrellas, good pieces of advice and balloons that have gone up in the air.
PILLOW TESTER
You must sleep with a different pillow every night. Try sleeping in bed, sitting on a chair, standing inside the wardrobe. In the morning you should evaluate both the quality of the pillow and the quality of your dreams.
SHADOW REPAIRER
Losing one’s shadow is kind of a problem. Shadows are soft and they tend to peel off. Carry around your thread and needles to help kids with frayed-elbow shadows.
LUCKY STAR DISTRIBUTOR
You shall open the telephone book on any page at random. Then close your eyes and pick a new fortunate person. Call to congratulate.
MOON SUPERVISOR
Moon feels glad when looked at, but nobody cares about her anymore. Keep an eye on her, write her poems so she doesn’t feel neglected.
